Department of Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. An undergraduate degree in psychology enhances career opportunities in many fields, and a graduate degree will prepare students for professional careers in psychology.

CSU Psychology majors can work toward the

• Bachelor of Science in Psychology
• Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

Students also have the opportunity to participate in CSU’s pre-medical program as preparation for application to medical school.

Our faculty represent a diversity of psychology’s specializations including clinical, cognitive, developmental, social, evolutionary, personality, biological, and behavior analysis. 

The curriculum encompasses theoretical, empirical, and applied approaches. Students have opportunities to explore specialty areas, and internships and independent study are available to qualified students.

Our research labs and facilities enhance the quality of the learning experience. We provide opportunities for students to engage in student / faculty research collaborations and present results at professional and student conferences.

We host a local chapter of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology, as well as our own Psychology Club.
